Core activities include manufacturing mineral fertilizers such as urea, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, and potash at facilities like the Garabogazkarbamid plant and Maryazot production association. The company also produces polymers including polyethylene and polypropylene at the Kiyanly gas chemical complex, as well as technical iodine, iodized salt, and other inorganic chemicals. It operates multiple plants across Balkan, Ahal, and Lebap velayats.

Headquartered in Ashgabat, Turkmenhimiya manages a portfolio of production enterprises and has assumed operational control of key assets previously under Turkmengaz, including the Kiyanly polymer plant. It actively pursues modernization, overhaul projects, and new constructions in partnership with international firms such as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, TOYO Engineering, and Rönesans.

As a state concern, it plays a strategic role in Turkmenistan's economic diversification, enhancing value-added processing of hydrocarbon resources, bolstering agricultural supply through fertilizers, and expanding the country's petrochemical export capabilities.
