TPK Holding Co., Ltd. is a company involved in energy storage initiatives through its joint venture Summit Transition Partners (STP), majority-owned by Sumitomo Corporation. STP is investing in five utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the UK, developed by Gresham House Energy Storage Fund, with a combined capacity of approximately 694 MW.
Construction on the first three projects (397 MW) is planned to start within the current fiscal year, while the remaining two (297 MW) are under exclusivity for parallel development. The investments target the growing need for grid-scale storage to support the UK’s renewable energy integration, which accounts for about half of its electricity supply.
