TotalEnergies EP Uganda is the Ugandan exploration and production subsidiary of the French multinational TotalEnergies SE. It acts as operator of the Tilenga project in the Lake Albert basin, holding a 56.67% participating interest in a joint venture partnership with CNOOC Uganda Limited (28.33%) and Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC, 15%).
The company develops six oil fields through drilling of around 420 wells from 29 well pads, targeting peak production of 190,000 barrels of oil per day. Crude is processed at central facilities for supply to Uganda's planned domestic refinery or export via the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) to global markets.
Founded in 2010 with operations starting in 2012 after a farm-in from Tullow Oil, it maintains headquarters in Kampala.
