Syngenta is a global agriscience company focused on crop protection and seeds, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. It was formed in 2000 through the combination of Novartis Agribusiness and AstraZeneca’s agrochemicals operations. In 2017 it was acquired by ChemChina and now operates as part of the Syngenta Group.

The company develops, manufactures, and supplies herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, seed treatments, and biological crop protection products, as well as seeds and traits for major field and specialty crops. Syngenta also offers digital agriculture and decision-support tools. Its operations span R&D centers, active-ingredient synthesis, formulation and packaging sites, and global distribution serving agricultural and horticultural markets.
