About Stedin

Stedin Netbeheer B.V. (Stedin) is a Dutch regulated distribution system operator (DSO) responsible for regional electricity and natural gas distribution. It plans, builds, operates, and maintains medium- and low-voltage electricity grids and local gas pipelines, performs customer connections and metering, and manages outages and grid upgrades. Stedin serves large parts of the Randstad, including the Rotterdam–The Hague region, Utrecht, and Zeeland, supplying households, businesses, and major industrial sites.

For the chemical industry, Stedin is the grid interface for connections and capacity, integration of on-site generation, electrification projects, and the hookup of assets such as electrolyzers and process electrification loads. In and around the Port of Rotterdam and other industrial clusters, it undertakes grid reinforcement and congestion management to meet growing power demand and renewable feed-in. Stedin operates under Dutch energy regulation as a publicly owned, regulated network operator; national high-voltage transmission is handled by TenneT.
