ScottishPower Energy Networks

SP Energy Networks (ScottishPower Energy Networks) is the electricity transmission and distribution arm of ScottishPower, part of Iberdrola. It operates the high‑voltage transmission network in central and southern Scotland (SP Transmission) and manages distribution networks in central and southern Scotland and in Merseyside, Cheshire, North and mid Wales, and parts of Shropshire (SP Distribution and SP Manweb). The company plans, builds, operates, and maintains substations, overhead lines, and underground cables, and connects homes, businesses, and generators to the grid.

As a regulated network operator under Ofgem’s RIIO framework, SP Energy Networks focuses on system reliability, network reinforcement, and accommodating new demand and generation, including large industrial loads and renewable energy.
