About Solar Impulse

The Solar Impulse Foundation is a Swiss non-profit organization founded by Bertrand Piccard to accelerate the adoption of clean, efficient, and economically viable technologies that address climate and resource challenges across industry, energy, buildings, and mobility.

The foundation identifies and endorses market-ready innovations through the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label, awarded following independent technical, environmental, and economic assessments by external experts. It curates these solutions in a public database, facilitates matchmaking between innovators, investors, and adopters, and provides advisory support to industry and policymakers on scaling practical decarbonization measures. Its work is relevant to the chemical sector by highlighting technologies that improve process energy efficiency, enable electrification and renewable heat, advance circularity and waste-to-value pathways, and reduce greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions across the value chain.
