The Solar Impulse Foundation is an independent, Swiss-based non-profit established by explorer Bertrand Piccard to accelerate the adoption of clean and economically viable environmental solutions across industries. The organization identifies, assesses, and promotes technologies and services that deliver measurable environmental benefits alongside sound business performance. Through its Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label and the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions, it connects innovators with industry, investors, and public authorities to help de-risk and scale deployment.
For the chemical industry, the foundation highlights and facilitates uptake of solutions for energy efficiency, low-carbon heat, process optimization, emissions monitoring, circularity, waste valorization, and water management, among others. Its activities include expert screening, benchmarking, and case documentation, as well as convening and matchmaking to support financing and implementation, including models that reduce upfront capital needs. The foundation operates internationally and collaborates across value chains to support practical decarbonization and resource-efficiency initiatives.
