Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo

About SNPC

Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC) is the national oil company of the Republic of the Congo. Established in 1998 and headquartered in Brazzaville, it serves as the state’s commercial arm in the hydrocarbons sector. SNPC manages the government’s interests in upstream oil and gas, holding stakes in onshore and offshore licenses, and markets the state’s share of crude oil and natural gas production.

Beyond upstream participation, SNPC is involved—directly and through subsidiaries and affiliates—in elements of the domestic downstream supply chain, including refining, storage, logistics, and distribution, as well as crude export operations. The company works with international partners under production sharing agreements and supports development of energy infrastructure such as terminals and pipelines. Its activities contribute to the Republic of the Congo’s energy supply and export revenues within the broader regional oil and gas industry.
