SN Power is a Norwegian renewable energy company focused on the development, ownership, and operation of hydropower assets in emerging markets. Its portfolio has included run-of-river and reservoir-based plants supplying electricity to national grids and industrial customers.
Established in 2002 as a joint venture between Statkraft and Norfund, SN Power expanded across South and Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America, investing in and partnering on new hydropower capacity—among them the SN Aboitiz Power joint venture in the Philippines and projects in India and Chile. In 2021, Norfund sold SN Power to Scatec ASA, and the platform was integrated into Scatec’s broader renewable energy business. The company’s activities have encompassed greenfield development, project financing, construction management, and long-term operations with attention to environmental and social standards.
