Sinopec New Star Xinjiang Green Hydrogen New Energy Co., Ltd.

Its core activity centers on the Sinopec Kuqa Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project in the Kuqa Economic and Technological Development Zone. The integrated facility includes a 300 MW PV power plant generating approximately 618 million kWh annually, 52 alkaline electrolyzers producing up to 20,000 tons of green hydrogen per year at 99.9% purity, hydrogen storage tanks with 210,000 Nm³ capacity, and a pipeline delivering 28,000 Nm³/h to the adjacent Sinopec Tahe Refinery. This replaces natural gas-based hydrogen, cutting CO₂ emissions by about 485,000 tons annually.

The company operates exclusively in Xinjiang, leveraging abundant local solar resources. It has expanded into hydrogen blending demonstrations for natural gas networks and explores transportation and industrial applications. Technological innovations include smart control systems for flexible production matching variable renewable output and contributions to equipment localization in China's hydrogen supply chain.

As part of the Sinopec Group, a major player in China's energy sector, the company supports national dual-carbon objectives and demonstrates scalable industrial green hydrogen use in refining and chemicals, positioning it as a leader in the emerging domestic green hydrogen industry.
