Renewi PLC is a UK‑incorporated “waste‑to‑product” company that converts waste into secondary raw materials. Formed in 2017 through the merger of Shanks Group and Van Gansewinkel, it operates primarily in the Netherlands and Belgium, with activities in the UK and other European markets. The company collects, sorts, and processes commercial, industrial, and municipal waste streams to produce recycled polymers, paper and cardboard, metals, glass, wood, organics, aggregates, and recovered fuels, as well as biogas/green gas and energy from residuals.
Renewi’s activities span monostream and specialty operations, including plastics reprocessing, WEEE and small appliances recycling (Coolrec), glass recycling (Maltha), organics treatment, and its Mineralz & Water division for the remediation and reuse of contaminated soils, ash, and wastewater (including ATM Moerdijk). It supplies circular feedstocks to manufacturers and other end users and provides waste services to businesses and public authorities across the region.
