Its role Owner

PZEM N.V., formerly known as DELTA N.V., is a Dutch energy company headquartered in Middelburg, Zeeland. It originated from the 1991 merger of the Provinciale Zeeuwse Electriciteits-Maatschappij (PZEM) and Watermaatschappij Zuid-West-Nederland, forming the broader DELTA group. Following corporate restructuring and asset sales between 2015 and 2017, the remaining production, trading, and wholesale supply activities reverted to the PZEM name.

The company focuses on electricity generation, energy trading, and supply of electricity and gas primarily to business and industrial customers across the Netherlands. It holds interests in power generation assets, including a stake in the Sloe gas-fired power plant and historical involvement with the Borssele nuclear facility. PZEM emphasizes asset optimization, portfolio management, and flexible supply solutions tailored to commercial needs in a volatile energy market.

Originally owned by Zeeland municipalities and the province, the company was acquired by the Czech EPH group in 2023 through EP Netherlands. Parts of its operations have since been integrated into broader EPH structures, with some rebranding to entities like EP Commodities B.V. by 2025. As a regional player with national reach, PZEM plays a role in the Dutch energy sector by supporting industrial energy demands, including those in energy-intensive industries such as chemicals.
