PTTEP JDX Thailand Ltd. Co. and its affiliate PTTEP JDX Thailand (JDA) Limited are wholly owned subsidiaries of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Thailand's leading petroleum exploration and production company.
Collectively known as PTTEP JDX, the companies hold a combined 50% participating interest in Block A-18 within the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA), with PTTEP JDX Thailand (JDA) Limited holding 49.5% and PTTEP JDX Thailand Ltd. Co. holding 0.5%. They partner with PC JDA Limited, a Petronas Carigali subsidiary, which holds the remaining 50%.
The primary activities of PTTEP JDX involve the exploration, development, and production of natural gas and condensate from offshore fields in the southern Gulf of Thailand. Operations are managed through the joint operating company PTTEP JDX & PC JDA Joint Operations Sdn. Bhd. (PPJO), based in Kuala Lumpur, which oversees production platforms such as the Cakerawala Platform and associated infrastructure in approximately 60 meters of water depth.
PTTEP JDX contributes significantly to regional energy security by supplying natural gas equally to Thailand and Malaysia. In August 2026, the entities, together with their partner, secured approvals for a new 35-year Production Sharing Contract (PSC) and Gas Sales Agreement for the expanded Block A-18-01, effective January 1, 2026, covering about 3,494 square kilometers.
As part of the PTTEP group, which is majority-owned by PTT Public Company Limited and operates over 50 projects worldwide, PTTEP JDX strengthens PTTEP's position in Southeast Asian upstream oil and gas, focusing on the strategic MTJDA resources.
