PsiQuantum, Corp. is a privately held American quantum computing company focused on developing and deploying utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers using silicon photonics technology. Founded in 2016 in Palo Alto, California, by quantum physicists Jeremy O'Brien, Terry Rudolph, Peter Shadbolt, and Mark Thompson, the company aims to build million-qubit systems by leveraging mature semiconductor manufacturing processes rather than exotic materials.

Its core technology includes the Omega silicon photonic chipset, fabricated at GlobalFoundries' facilities, along with modular platforms integrating photonic chips, optical fiber networking, cryogenic cooling systems, control electronics, and software tools such as the Construct platform for fault-tolerant algorithm development. The company operates facilities in Palo Alto and Milpitas, California (including its PsiFactory), Daresbury in the UK for R&D, and is constructing its first utility-scale systems in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois, USA, through major government partnerships.

PsiQuantum has secured over $1.6 billion in funding, including a $1 billion Series E round, and employs more than 500 people worldwide. It maintains collaborations with partners including Airbus, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and various research institutions. As a venture capital-backed private entity incorporated in Delaware, it positions itself as a frontrunner in the photonic quantum computing sector, targeting commercially useful applications in chemistry, materials science, aerospace, and other industries by the late 2020s.
