About PROPARCO

PROPARCO is a French development finance institution and the private‑sector arm of the AFD (Agence Française de Développement) Group. Established in 1977 and headquartered in Paris, it finances companies and projects in emerging and developing markets across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Its mandate is to support sustainable private‑sector growth, job creation and the climate transition.

PROPARCO provides debt, equity and guarantees—directly and via funds—to businesses and financial institutions in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and agribusiness, alongside technical assistance. For the chemical and process industries, it can back industrial projects and supply chains where operations meet stringent environmental, social and governance requirements and demonstrate improvements in areas such as safety, resource efficiency and emissions management. Financing may include project and corporate loans, mezzanine instruments and risk‑sharing facilities, with environmental and social risk management aligned to international standards.
