Prax (Prax Group) is a United Kingdom–based integrated energy company operating across the oil value chain, including refining, supply, distribution, and retail. The group owns and operates the Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery in North Lincolnshire, constructed in 1968, with capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (approximately 109,000 barrels per day). Prax integrates refinery product flows into its UK distribution and retail network, which operates under the Harvest Energy brand.
As part of its industrial decarbonization efforts, Prax is advancing the Prax Lindsey Carbon Capture Project at the refinery. The project plans to deploy amine solvent technology to capture over 85% of on-site CO2 emissions—more than 1 million tonnes per year—with captured CO2 transported for permanent storage in depleted North Sea gas fields via the East Coast Cluster infrastructure. The initiative has been shortlisted under the UK government’s cluster sequencing process.
