PG Energia Sdn. Bhd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) and functions as the dedicated investment holding company for PGB's utilities and energy businesses following an internal reorganization completed around 2026.
Incorporated in Malaysia on 17 July 2024 with registered address at the PETRONAS Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the company consolidates subsidiaries and joint ventures focused on the production and supply of industrial utilities including gases, steam, electricity, and related infrastructure. Notable holdings include PG Utilities East Sdn. Bhd. for utilities supply to petrochemical clusters in Kerteh and Gebeng, PG Linkaranfibre Sdn. Bhd., and PG Cold Energy 1 Sdn. Bhd. (PGCE1), a joint venture developing Malaysia's first LNG-based air separation unit at the Pengerang regasification terminal in partnership with Air Products and DIALOG Group.
PG Energia also holds majority stakes in power generation projects, such as 60% of Rancha Power Sdn. Bhd. for a 120 MW plant in Labuan developed with Sabah state-linked entities, and interests in gas solutions and other energy ventures. As part of the PETRONAS group, it supports non-regulated activities in Malaysia's energy and petrochemical sectors, enabling greater operational focus, transparency, and capital flexibility separate from PGB's regulated gas processing and transportation segments.
LNG cold energy will liquefy air to produce >600 t/day of liquid O2, N2 and Ar for southern and central Malaysia; start-up expected early 2027.
