Pengerang Refining Company Sdn. Bhd. (PRefChem Refining) operates a major refining facility at the Pengerang Integrated Complex in Johor, Malaysia. It forms part of the PRefChem joint venture, which also includes Pengerang Petrochemical Company Sdn. Bhd.
In 2025, Saudi Aramco agreed to transfer its equity stakes in both entities to PETRONAS, subject to regulatory approvals. Upon completion, PRefChem will become a wholly owned PETRONAS subsidiary, enhancing operational alignment and integration within PETRONAS’s downstream value chain.
The companies intend to maintain cooperation through arrangements such as coordinated crude supply, technology exchange, and product distribution, building on their long-standing partnership.
