ORES (legal name: ORES Une entreprise publique wallonne; Latin name: ORES Belgium) is a publicly owned energy distribution system operator (DSO) in Wallonia, Belgium. It plans, operates, and maintains local electricity and natural gas distribution networks across much of the region.
The company’s activities include connecting residential, commercial, and industrial customers; operating and upgrading medium- and low-voltage electricity grids and gas networks; metering and smart meter deployment; network monitoring and automation; and maintenance of public lighting in many municipalities.
