OQ Exploration and Production (OQEP) is the upstream business of OQ, Oman’s integrated energy company. It is responsible for the exploration, appraisal, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas, managing a mix of operated and non-operated assets.
OQEP’s activities are centered in Oman, where it holds interests in multiple onshore blocks and progresses projects from subsurface studies and drilling through to full-field development and operations. The company also participates selectively in international ventures through partnerships. Its work covers reservoir management, well construction, and production operations with a focus on regulatory compliance and health, safety, and environmental standards.
As part of the OQ group, OQEP contributes to Oman’s energy value chain by bringing hydrocarbon resources to market and supporting domestic supply. The business was previously known as Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP).
