Neptun Deep is an offshore natural gas development in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea. The project is jointly developed by OMV Petrom (operator) and Romgaz, targeting deepwater gas discoveries including the Domino and Pelican South structures. Positioned as one of the most significant upstream gas developments in the region, Neptun Deep is intended to enhance regional energy supply and leverage Romania’s domestic resources.
The development scope includes subsea wells and offshore facilities tied back via export pipelines to an onshore gas treatment plant connected to Romania’s transmission network. Start-up is planned for the mid- to late-2020s. Once onstream, Neptun Deep is expected to support gas demand in Romania and neighboring markets, providing a key feedstock for power generation as well as the chemical and fertilizer industries.
