The National Wealth Fund is a UK government–backed investment vehicle focused on mobilising public and private capital into strategic industries and infrastructure. Its mandate is to support long-term economic growth, secure jobs, and advance the UK’s net‑zero objectives.
The fund provides patient capital and co‑invests alongside industry and institutional partners in projects that accelerate decarbonisation and strengthen industrial capacity. Priority areas include clean power, industrial decarbonisation (such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage and low‑carbon hydrogen), grid and port upgrades, and advanced manufacturing.
For the chemical and wider process industries, the fund’s investments aim to enable emissions reduction, improve energy efficiency, and scale low‑carbon feedstocks through shared infrastructure and technology deployment. It operates across the UK in collaboration with government agencies, regional bodies, and private sector developers.
