Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) is a government agency under the Ministry of Economy, established in April 2011. It is tasked with developing Malaysia's Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) industry, which supports upstream oil and gas operations, including those relevant to the chemical sector through petrochemical feedstocks and related services.
MPRC drives industry growth via the National OGSE Industry Blueprint 2021–2030, with a mid-term review launched in March 2025 to align with national economic policies and energy transition goals. The agency provides policy recommendations, research, and consulting to enhance competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability in the OGSE ecosystem.
Key focuses include facilitating OGSE companies' pivot to cleaner energy opportunities, in line with Malaysia's Net-Zero by 2050 target, the National Energy Transition Roadmap, and UN Sustainable Development Goals. MPRC collaborates with stakeholders like PETRONAS to bolster the sector, which contributes 5–8% to Malaysia's GDP and supports over 123,000 jobs.
