MERO ČR, a.s. is the Czech Republic’s state-owned operator of crude oil transport and storage infrastructure. The company ensures the reliable supply of crude to domestic refineries and safeguards part of the country’s strategic reserves, operating critical assets that underpin national energy security.
MERO manages the Czech sections of the Druzhba pipeline and the IKL (Ingolstadt–Kralupy–Litvínov) pipeline, which connects in Ingolstadt to the Transalpine Pipeline (TAL). This linkage enables deliveries of seaborne crude from the Mediterranean into the Czech Republic as an alternative to overland routes. The company also operates major storage facilities, including the Central Oil Tank Farm near Nelahozeves, providing capacity for both commercial stocks and state reserves.
As a transmission system operator, MERO focuses on safe, efficient pipeline operations, maintenance, and capacity management, working with domestic and international partners to support diversified crude sourcing. Its activities are integral to the continuity and flexibility of feedstock supply for Czech refining and the broader petrochemical value chain.
