Magyar Vegyipari Szövetség (MAVESZ), the Hungarian Chemical Industry Association, is the national trade association representing Hungary’s chemical and related industries across the value chain. It serves as a forum for manufacturers, suppliers, and downstream users, and as a key interlocutor with government, regulators, and other stakeholders on matters affecting the sector.
MAVESZ focuses on policy and regulatory affairs, safety and environmental stewardship, and the competitiveness of the Hungarian chemical industry. It provides expert working groups, guidance, and training; supports innovation and investment; and promotes best practices in areas such as process safety, product stewardship, energy efficiency, and circularity. The association engages on topics including industrial policy, trade, skills, and the energy transition, and collaborates with domestic and European partners to help ensure a resilient, sustainable, and high-performing chemical value chain in Hungary.
