Werkzeugmaschinenlabor WZL der RWTH Aachen (Machine Tool Laboratory of RWTH Aachen) is a research institute at RWTH Aachen University in Germany focused on production engineering and machine tools. Operating at the interface of academia and industry, WZL conducts applied research, education, and technology transfer in fields such as machine tool design and operation, manufacturing systems, gear and drivetrain technologies, production metrology and quality management, and data-driven, digitally integrated production.
