Lülsdorf Functional Solutions GmbH is a German chemical company operating the Lülsdorf site in Niederkassel, near Cologne. A subsidiary of the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), it was acquired from Evonik in 2023.
The company specializes in producing potassium derivatives, including potassium carbonate (K₂CO₃) and potassium hydrogen carbonate (KHCO₃), which serve markets such as agrochemicals, food and feed, pharmaceuticals, consumer care, and industrial applications. Along with ICI Group affiliates, it is Europe's leading provider of these products for technical and food industry uses. Additional activities include contract manufacturing of alkoxides (exclusively for Evonik until 2027) and biodiesel production via KFS Biodiesel GmbH.
The site spans about 100 hectares, employs approximately 500 people, and holds ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001 certifications. It forms part of the Chemiepark Lülsdorf network, offering infrastructure and services to tenants.
