Lonza Biotec, s.r.o. is a Czech subsidiary of the Swiss Lonza Group. It operates a microbial fermentation and custom manufacturing facility in Kouřim (near Kolín) focused on active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates, L-carnitine and nutrition products for pharma, biotech and food industries. The site opened/expanded in 2004 with significant prior investment.
