Lithium South Development Corporation

About Lithium South

Lithium South Development Corporation is a Vancouver-based exploration-stage junior mining company focused on lithium brine projects in Argentina. Its flagship asset, the Hombre Muerto North Lithium Project (HMN Li), comprises nine mining concessions totaling 5,687 hectares in Salta Province on the prolific Hombre Muerto salar.

The project features a NI 43-101 compliant indicated and measured resource of 1.58 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) at an average grade of 736 mg/L lithium. A preliminary economic assessment outlines potential for a 15,600 tonne per year lithium carbonate operation. The salar hosts neighboring production by Rio Tinto and POSCO.

In 2025, POSCO agreed to acquire Lithium South's Argentine subsidiary holding the HMN Li assets for approximately US$65 million. Shareholders approved the transaction and a going-private arrangement in February 2026, with closing set for April 7, 2026, after which the company plans to delist from the TSX Venture Exchange and OTCQB.
