LIPOR is the intermunicipal waste management authority for the Greater Porto region of Portugal, formed by eight municipalities. It plans and operates an integrated municipal solid waste system, coordinating regional strategy, infrastructure, and services across its member cities.
The organization manages facilities for materials sorting and recycling, organic waste recovery (e.g., composting), and energy recovery from non‑recyclable waste, alongside controlled landfill operations and environmental monitoring.
