Its role Owner
Laboratorios Liomont, S.A. de C.V. is a privately held, 100% Mexican pharmaceutical company founded in 1938 by chemist Don Martin Lewinberg. Headquartered in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City, it develops, manufactures, and markets high-quality generic medicines, over-the-counter products, biologics, biosimilars, monoclonal antibodies, and vaccines to alleviate human pain.
The company operates three specialized GMP-compliant manufacturing plants: one in Cuajimalpa for sterile, biotechnological, and generic products; a facility in Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico, for oral solids and injectables; and a biotech plant in Cuajimalpa focused on recombinant proteins and vaccines. It employs around 1,700 people with an annual production capacity exceeding 120 million units and exports to 16 markets across the Americas and Europe.
Liomont is actively expanding its capabilities with investments exceeding 4 billion Mexican pesos, including a new oral solids plant and injectables expansion in Ocoyoacac, biopharmaceutical and recombinant vaccine expansions in Mexico City, and a new mRNA synthesis and encapsulation plant. It partners with Moderna on mRNA vaccine projects and collaborates with academia on biosimilars and advanced therapies.
As an independent Mexican firm, Liomont emphasizes innovation, international quality standards, and support for national health sovereignty through local advanced manufacturing. It is recognized as a leading player in Mexico's pharmaceutical sector, balancing prescription and OTC portfolios with growing biotechnology focus.
