The University of Kansas Medical Center (KU Medical Center, KU Med) is the academic health center of the University of Kansas, based in Kansas City, Kansas, with additional School of Medicine campuses in Wichita and Salina. It comprises the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Professions and partners closely with The University of Kansas Health System to support clinical education and patient care.
KU Medical Center conducts basic, translational, and clinical research in areas such as oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, population health, and health services. The University of Kansas Cancer Center holds National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center designation. The institution supports clinical trials and shared research cores spanning pharmacology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, imaging, and biostatistics. Through collaborations with academic, healthcare, and industry partners, KU Medical Center advances development and evaluation of therapeutics, diagnostics, and care models while training healthcare professionals for the region.
