Kaohsiung Monomer Company Limited (KMC), legally known as 高雄塑酯化學工業股份有限公司, is a Taiwanese chemical manufacturer founded in 1976 and based in the Ta-She Petrochemical Park, Kaohsiung. It specializes in the production of methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomers using the ACH (acetone cyanohydrin) process, with an annual capacity of approximately 105,000 tonnes.
Historically established as a joint venture between ICI (now part of Mitsubishi Chemical Group) with 60% stake and China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC) with 40%, KMC has been Taiwan's largest producer of acrylic raw materials, supporting the local acrylic industry. In a recent development, Mitsubishi Chemical announced the transfer of its stake to CPDC, scheduled for completion by August 2026, amid shifting market dynamics in Asia's MMA sector.
