Kempen & Co N.V. is a Dutch merchant bank, historically specializing in securities brokerage, corporate finance, and asset management. Founded in 1903 in Amsterdam as an independent stockbroker, it was acquired by Van Lanschot in 2007 and integrated into Van Lanschot Kempen N.V., the Netherlands' oldest independent financial institution (est. 1737).
Today, its legacy continues within Van Lanschot Kempen's Investment Banking division, a European boutique focusing on capital markets transactions, debt advisory, equities research and trading, and mergers & acquisitions. The group manages €159 billion in assets and employs around 2,300 people. Kempen & Co has served clients across sectors, including energy and chemicals professionals.
