Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE) is South Korea’s official export credit agency and a government-backed policy finance institution. It supports Korean exports, overseas investments, and foreign buyers of Korean goods and services by providing trade and investment insurance, guarantees, and reinsurance that mitigate risks in cross-border commerce.

K-SURE’s coverage addresses commercial and political risks such as non-payment, contract cancellation, country risk, and force majeure. Its offerings include supplier’s and buyer’s credit insurance, export bond insurance, investment insurance, and guarantees for bank-financed transactions. The agency works with commercial banks and international lenders to mobilize financing for large projects across energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure, shipbuilding, machinery, and other industrial sectors. For chemical-industry participants, K-SURE facilitates project finance and long-term equipment exports, supports sales into higher-risk markets, and provides risk assessment and country limits aligned with international ECA practices.
