JEPLAN, INC.

About JEPLAN

JEPLAN, Inc. (株式会社JEPLAN), founded in 2007 and headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, specializes in proprietary chemical recycling technology for polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The process depolymerizes waste PET from bottles, textiles, and other sources to bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) monomer via crystallization and distillation, removing impurities like dyes and metals to produce high-purity recycled PET resin comparable to virgin material, suitable for food-contact applications.

The company operates commercial-scale facilities, including the PET Refine Technology plant (22,000 t/yr) in Kawasaki for bottle-to-bottle recycling and the Kitakyushu Hibikinada demonstration plant (1,000 t/yr) for textile-to-textile trials. JEPLAN licenses its technology globally, including Rewind® PET in partnership with Axens and IFPEN, and produces branded resins like HELIX™.

With over 15 years of operational experience, JEPLAN supports circular economy initiatives through collaborations with partners like Asahi Soft Drinks, Sumitomo Mitsui, and Syre, reducing reliance on fossil feedstocks and CO₂ emissions in the polyester supply chain.
