ILBOC (Iberian Lube Base Oils Company, S.A.) is a Spain-based producer of base oils for the lubricant industry. Formed as a joint venture between Repsol and SK Enmove (formerly SK Lubricants), the company operates a hydrocracking/hydroisomerization complex in Cartagena, adjacent to Repsol’s refinery.
ILBOC supplies API Group II and Group III base oils used in high‑performance automotive and industrial lubricants, including formulations for synthetic and low‑viscosity engine oils. With a nameplate capacity of around 630,000 tonnes per year, it is among Europe’s largest Group II/III base oil facilities. The site serves European and export markets, leveraging integration with the Cartagena refinery for feedstock and logistics, and shipping via road and the Port of Cartagena.
