Graforce GmbH

About Graforce

Graforce GmbH is a Berlin-based technology company specializing in the development and commercialization of plasma pyrolysis systems for sustainable hydrogen production and industrial decarbonization. Founded in 2012 by Dr. Jens Hanke and headquartered in the Adlershof science park, the firm designs and builds modular Plasmalyzer units that convert methane, biogas, flare gas, landfill gas, ammonia, and industrial wastewater into CO2-free or CO2-negative hydrogen, syngas, and solid carbon using renewable electricity.

The technology achieves substantially lower energy use than conventional water electrolysis, enabling cost-effective turquoise or green hydrogen while generating valuable carbon byproducts suitable for steel, concrete, asphalt, electrodes, and soil improvement. Graforce has successfully commissioned a methane pyrolysis demonstration plant at RAG Austria AG and partners with global engineering firms such as NEUMAN & ESSER for compression, gas treatment, and full plant integration. The company holds multiple patents on plasma processes including high-frequency, dielectric barrier, and corona discharges.

Privately held and venture-backed, Graforce received a double-digit million-euro financing round in early 2026 from Calderion (Audacia), Terravent, and WenCo to accelerate global scale-up. It operates primarily in Germany with international projects and positions itself as a technology leader in negative-emission and circular-economy solutions for the energy, chemical, heat, transport, and building sectors.
