About GIZ

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is Germany’s federal enterprise for international development and cooperation. Owned by the Federal Republic of Germany and commissioned by ministries such as BMZ, as well as by the EU, UN bodies and other clients, GIZ advises and implements projects in more than 120 countries. Headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn, the organisation was formed in 2011 through the merger of GTZ, InWEnt and DED.

For the chemical and process industries, GIZ’s work intersects with policy advisory, technical cooperation and capacity building on topics including sustainable industrial development, environmental and climate protection, resource and energy efficiency, circular economy, water and wastewater management, occupational safety, and responsible supply chains. It supports partner governments and industry associations in developing regulatory frameworks and standards, promotes skills development and technology transfer, and facilitates multi‑stakeholder initiatives that support safer chemicals and waste management in line with international agreements.
