Genbio is a privately held Mexican biotechnology company focused on the production of plasma-derived pharmaceutical products and the integration of blood bank services. The company's main activities center on fractionation technology that separates plasma proteins to produce human albumin, immunoglobulins (such as IgG), and coagulation factors. These products treat conditions including shock, burns, hypoalbuminemia, primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune disorders, hemophilia, and support for bone marrow transplants. The Chalco facility has a designed capacity of up to 600,000 liters of plasma per year and holds GMP certifications from COFEPRIS (Mexico), INVIMA (Colombia), and CECMED (Cuba).

Founded around 2010 and described as 100% Mexican-owned, Genbio contributes to national pharmaceutical sovereignty initiatives under Mexico's Plan México by reducing import dependence for essential blood products. It addresses domestic plasma waste issues while creating specialized employment in biotechnology and pharmaceutical processes. In the industry, Genbio positions itself as a regional leader in hemoderivatives, with the Chalco plant representing one of only a small number of such facilities globally.
