Firmenich SA is a Swiss fragrance and flavor company that designs, develops, and manufactures scent and taste solutions for perfumery, personal and home care, and food and beverage applications. Its portfolio includes compounded fragrances and flavors as well as aroma chemicals, natural extracts, and biotech-derived ingredients. Capabilities span organic synthesis, fermentation and biotechnology, naturals sourcing and processing, encapsulation and delivery systems, and sensory science, supported by safety, regulatory, and sustainability expertise.
Founded in 1895 and headquartered in Geneva, Firmenich built a global R&D and manufacturing network serving consumer goods and fine fragrance markets. In 2023, Firmenich combined with DSM to form dsm-firmenich, with Firmenich’s activities continuing as part of the group’s perfumery and taste businesses.
