Eksportkreditt Norge AS

About Export Credit Norway

Export Credit Norway (Eksportkreditt Norge AS) was Norway’s state-owned export credit agency, wholly owned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. It provided government-backed, long-term loans to international buyers of Norwegian goods and services and to projects involving Norwegian suppliers. The agency supported sectors such as maritime, energy (including offshore and renewables), aquaculture, and process industries, typically in cooperation with commercial banks and the Norwegian export credit guarantee agency (GIEK). Loans were issued on OECD-compliant terms, including CIRR-fixed rates.

On 1 July 2021, Export Credit Norway and GIEK were merged into Export Finance Norway (Eksfin). The successor entity continues the management of existing portfolios and the provision of export financing on behalf of the Norwegian state.
