Vietnam Electricity

Vietnam Electricity, operating under the name EVN, is Vietnam's primary state-owned electricity utility responsible for generation, transmission, distribution and retail supply across the country. It manages a large portfolio of power plants including hydro, coal, gas and growing renewable assets while operating the national high-voltage grid.

The company functions as a vertically integrated state enterprise under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and holds a dominant market position in Vietnam's electricity sector. It procures power from independent producers and enters into long-term offtake agreements for new projects such as LNG-to-power facilities to support northern demand growth and the national energy transition.

EVN serves the entire Vietnamese population through its regional subsidiaries and is central to government plans for capacity expansion, grid modernization and achieving net-zero emissions targets by 2050. Its operations are concentrated within Vietnam with headquarters in the capital.
