Evergas

Evergas is a Danish shipping company specializing in the seaborne transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG), ethane, and liquefied petroleum gases (LPG). Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with operational presence in Singapore and additional offices in France and China, the company manages a fleet of advanced gas carriers including eight Dragon-class semi-refrigerated multi-gas vessels (27,500 cbm capacity) and two very large ethane carriers (VLECs up to 85,000 cbm).

Evergas is particularly noted for pioneering dedicated ethane transportation solutions, with vessels featuring innovative dual-fuel propulsion that can burn cargo boil-off gas, achieving high efficiency and reduced emissions. It maintains long-term time charter agreements with INEOS for shipping US shale-derived ethane to European petrochemical facilities at Grangemouth (UK) and Rafnes (Norway), as well as routes to China. The company also operates smaller pressurized LPG carriers for short-haul trades.

Formerly known as Eitzen Gas and part of the Eitzen Group with roots dating to 1883, Evergas was rebranded as a standalone entity around 2011. In December 2022, it was acquired by Bermuda-based Seapeak LLC (formerly Teekay LNG Partners) from Jaccar Holdings in a transaction valued at approximately $700 million and now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary while retaining its brand and focus on specialized gas logistics. Employing around 550 people, Evergas positions itself as a leader in efficient and sustainable liquefied gas shipping, with a strong emphasis on vessel innovation and long-term contracts in the petrochemical and energy sectors.
