Eramet SA is a France-based mining and metallurgical group focused on critical metals and materials for industrial and chemical value chains. The company operates globally across Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas, supplying key inputs to steelmaking, energy storage, and specialty chemical markets.
Its core businesses include manganese (extraction and processing of manganese ore and production of manganese alloys), nickel (mining and refining into metal and salts), and mineral sands (notably ilmenite and zircon) used in pigments, foundry, and ceramics. Eramet’s operations span upstream mining through downstream processing, with assets including manganese mines in Gabon, nickel operations in New Caledonia and refining in France, and mineral sands activities in Senegal.

The project will produce ethanol from furnace gas, aiming for CO2 reduction. A feasibility study may add CCS. Operations start in 2028, creating jobs and supporting local innovation.
The Sandouville plant adapts to a new nickel matte supplier from Finland, completing a €34.5M process transformation. The facility will gradually restart, aiming for full production by 2018.
