Eni Cyprus Limited is a private limited company incorporated in Cyprus and a consolidated subsidiary of the Italian integrated energy company Eni S.p.A. It serves as Eni’s primary vehicle for upstream oil and gas exploration and production activities in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The company holds interests in multiple offshore exploration licenses around Cyprus, including operating Block 6 where it is developing the Cronos gas field in a 50/50 joint venture with TotalEnergies. Cronos, discovered in 2022 and appraised subsequently, contains more than 3 trillion cubic feet of gas initially in place and is being advanced as Cyprus’s first hydrocarbon development project, with first gas targeted for 2028 via subsea infrastructure tied back to existing facilities in Egypt.
Eni Cyprus Limited’s activities focus on deepwater gas exploration and development, utilizing proprietary geophysical technologies. Gas from Cronos will be transported by pipeline to Egypt for processing at the Zohr facilities and liquefaction at the Damietta LNG terminal for export, primarily to European markets. The entity has been active in Cyprus since 2013 and maintains its registered office in Nicosia.
As part of the broader Eni Group, Eni Cyprus Limited contributes to the parent company’s strategy of expanding its global LNG and gas portfolio while supporting regional energy diversification and security. It operates alongside partners such as TotalEnergies in several Cypriot blocks and positions Eni as a key player in the emerging Eastern Mediterranean gas sector.
