About EnergyX

Energy Exploration Technologies, Inc. (EnergyX) is a privately held technology company founded in 2018 by Teague Egan and headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with operations and facilities in Austin, Texas. The company develops direct lithium extraction (DLE) technologies for recovering lithium from brine resources, primarily targeting applications in rechargeable batteries and the energy transition.

EnergyX focuses on proprietary DLE systems designed as closed-loop processes with brine reinjection to minimize water use relative to traditional evaporation methods. Its main project is the Black Giant lithium development in Chile’s Antofagasta region through subsidiary Black Giant SpA, planned to reach 52,500 tonnes per year of lithium carbonate equivalent capacity in phases starting in 2028.

In July 2026, Italian energy company Eni agreed to acquire a 25% stake in Black Giant SpA through a phased $225 million investment, including board representation and offtake rights for up to 25% of production.
