Export Finance Norway

About Eksfin

Export Finance Norway (Eksfin) is Norway’s official export credit agency. Operating under the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, it was established in 2021 through the merger of GIEK (the Guarantee Institute for Export Credits) and Export Credit Norway. Eksfin’s mandate is to facilitate Norwegian exports and international investments involving Norwegian technology, equipment, and services.

Eksfin provides state-backed loans and guarantees to Norwegian exporters and their foreign buyers, typically alongside commercial banks. Its portfolio spans capital-intensive sectors such as maritime and offshore industries, renewable energy (including offshore wind), aquaculture, and process and industrial projects, as well as emerging areas like carbon capture, hydrogen, and other low-carbon infrastructure. Transactions are assessed under environmental and social due-diligence frameworks and follow international rules for officially supported export credits, including OECD guidelines.

By de-risking large projects and enabling access to long-term financing, Eksfin supports the deployment of Norwegian solutions in global markets relevant to energy, industrial, and supply-chain applications.
