About EemsEnergyTerminal

EemsEnergyTerminal B.V. operates the EemsEnergy Terminal, a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and regasification facility in the port of Eemshaven, Groningen, the Netherlands. The terminal receives LNG cargoes, provides temporary storage and regasification via two floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), and injects natural gas into the national transmission system.

Commissioned in 2022 to rapidly expand Dutch LNG import capacity, the site offers around 8–9 billion cubic meters per year of regasification send-out, with integration into the Gasunie-operated grid (GTS). The terminal supports security of supply for the Netherlands and Northwest Europe and helps meet demand from power, heating, and industrial users, including the chemical sector.
