European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) is a central clearing house headquartered in Leipzig, Germany. Founded in 2006 and part of the EEX Group, it provides clearing and settlement services for energy and other commodity products on exchanges including EEX, EPEX SPOT, and partner platforms.
ECC assumes counterparty risk to support market integrity. In June 2026, ECC and EEX were awarded a five-year European Commission contract to operate the common auction platform for the EU Emissions Trading System starting in 2027.
